A Public Policy and Management Subject in the Institutions and Context Domain
Socioeconomic and Political Context
This public policy and management subject, under the Institutions and Context domain, examines the different ways in which the processes and frameworks of public policy should be evaluated in light of the social, economic and political contexts in which they are developed. Some of the topics examined within this subject are the relationship between public values and expectations of public policy, and the impact of cultural diversity and demographic change on policy development. These courses may also provide an introduction to social policy and examine different ways social programs are structured in Canada and in other jurisdictions around the world.
