A Teaching Topic in Leadership

Challenges for Executives in Modern Organizations

This topic provides students with an overview of contemporary approaches to management. Students are asked to consider questions like: what do managers actually do? How do they go about accomplishing their objectives? What are the key challenges of being a manger in an organization? What are some of the differences between management in different public service environments – large government departments, independent agencies, non profit organizations?
