Audit Team

A group of individuals working together on a common audit project

(Office of the Auditor General: Manual on Annual Audit – General Audit Management Issues


An audit team consists of:

• The entity Principal;

• Director; Audit Project Leader;

• Audit professionals;

• Member(s) of the Information Technology group;

• Audit trainees working toward a professional accounting designation;

• Other Office staff, including support staff, summer students, co-op students and others;

• In some instances, external specialist(s);

• Depending on the circumstances, the responsible Assistant Auditor

General may operate as a member of the audit team and oversee the work
