Mapping Core Topics and Subjects to Competencies
A depiction that arrays core topics (within core subjects) under core competencies rather than under subject domains

Most of the Atlas maps use a common layout of subjects under four domains. The depiction below differs in that it arrays core topics (within core subjects) under the seven MPP/MPA Core Competencies arranged so that the policy-oriented subjects are on the left and the management-oriented subjects are on the right. To permit comparison with two other competency descriptors, two of the tables from the MPP/MPA Core Competencies page have been reproduced below the map as Tables A and B. The numbers in parentheses after each topic on the map correspond to a NASPAA competency example listed in Table A.

NOTE: This page is under development and the entries below are currently for illustrative purposes. Uncompleted normed topics are marked with an asterisk (*) and their links point to Atlas subject pages which provide an indication of topic titles in relevant MPP and MPA courses.
