Curriculum Comparison Tables - Outside North America
How Master's programs differ in distribution of instruction by type of subject and core competencies

There are substantial differences in the course offerings for programs leading to a similarly named credential (an MPP, an MPA, or a similarly named degree). This page presents our estimates of the amount
of instruction received by a typical student presented with the each program's offering of required and elective courses.

  • Curricular Type Parameters displays the numbers found in Program Rankings by Curricular Characteristics and used to categorize programs in to curricular types in MPP/MPA Curricular Types.
  • Enrolment-Adjusted Course Distribution displays the proportion of instruction that we estimate a typical student would receive in specific subjects, using the technique described
in the PEACO Algorithm to account for elective and required courses.
  • Competency Gap Analysis compares the course-weeks of instruction received by the typical student in core subjects with the number of course-weeks that we estimate
(see MPP/MPA Core Competencies) are needed in these subjects to meet the standards set by NASPAA and UNDESA/IASIA.
  • Additional Parameters displays information on total courses offered, electives usually taken, and information on courses used in Comparisons with International Affairs Programs

Below are three tables: programs in Europe; programs in the Middle East, Russia, Asia and Brazil; and programs in Australia and New Zealand. Tables for programs in Canada and the United States are found at Curriculum Comparison Tables - North America.
