SUP-205: Inequality and Social Policy
Description: This course will explore the research literature on social inequality and its application in social policy. Emphasis will be placed on institutions that mediate the transmission and reproduction of inequality, including families, schools, neighborhoods, labor markets, the social welfare system, and the criminal justice system. Lectures will focus on recent empirical trends and theories about the causes and consequences of inequality. Interactive sessions will feature policy interventions that aim to reduce the social problems associated with inequality.
