A Teaching Topic in Evaluation and Performance Measurement
Perennial and Emerging Issues in Evaluation
This topic considers both longstanding and new issues in the field of evaluation. Specifically, students learn about the role of politics in this area, and to understand the differences between bureaucratic and political directives. Students also learn about why evaluators often encounter resistance to their efforts. Finally, this topic considers the question of where the field of evaluation is going in the years ahead.
